11. Water leak on my ceiling from Evaporative cooler

Evaporative cooling unit is an air handling appliance with the sump containing over 12L of water when it's running. Water may enter into the roof space via the following options:

a. If filter pads are clogged with mud or damaged, the fan motor potentially can draw in a water droplets into the ductwork and over electric components. Wash or replace filters if necessary.

b. Water lines and fittings inside the cooler could get damaged and start pumping water into the ductwork. Check and replace if required.

c. Flashing around dropper is box damaged or not sealed. Inspect for holes and cracks, re-seal or replace if non repairable.

d. Water can leak through the roof tiles gaps when drain valve is dumping water. Missing or poorly installed drain pipe on coolers drain outlet. Always run pipe into the gutter.
