2. Evaporative Cooler blowing warm air | not cooling | no longer blowing cool air

If your cooler has not been serviced for a while, it may result in poor performance or some form of malfunction. Including not blowing cold air or warm air only, which could be caused by a number of reasons.

a. Filter pads are not saturated 100% or completely dry. Check shut off valve is ON and water level inside cooler set correctly. Ensure the pump is ON and operating. Check for a sludge build-up or blockage within a water distribution line. Water pump, solenoid, drain valve or a control board can also be faulty.

b. Insufficient air flow. Check if there is enough doors and windows have been opened .

Make sure the filter pads are not damaged or blocked with dust, mold or other debris. Wash or replace filters if required.

c. Humidity level or temperature outside is too high. If weather conditions are excessively humid, the cooling efficiency may be reduced. Start the cooler early to prevent the build-up of heat within the house, use blackout curtains to reduce direct sunlight. Regardless you should expect at least 10 Degrees Celsius in temperature difference, If system regularly serviced & functioning properly.

d. The general recommendations to ensure maximum efficiency - cooling system should be checked every 2-3 years. The best is to refer to the owner’s manual as it depends on the brand and model.
